Lakeland's Trusted Family Landscaping Contractors
We treat every job like it's our own yard.
New Era Landscaping is a family-owned contractor serving Lakeland, Winter Haven, and Polk County. Brett Lull and Maurilio Barcena take a hands-on approach to the work New Era puts its name on. The goal isn't to give every customer the same design. It's to understand the property, the project and the finished look the homeowner wants — then build around that.

The New Era Approach
Some projects need a cleaner landscape border. Others need an entirely different garage floor or a better use of an outdoor space. We focus on the details that make the finished project feel intentional, from the curves and hand-shaped texture of
Canyon Rock to the preparation underneath a
concrete coating system.
The Working Values Behind Every Job We Do
Our standard is to prepare every surface properly before any material goes down. That means grinding concrete before an epoxy coat, compacting the base before paver installation, and treating the soil before curbing. It takes more time upfront. But a homeowner in Central Florida's heat and humidity needs a result that holds up for years, and that starts with getting the foundation right. We don't skip steps because the next job is waiting.
When you call or text us, you reach Brett or Maurilio directly. Not a receptionist. Not a project manager who has to relay the message. This matters when a question comes up on site, when the scope changes, or when you want to know exactly what's happening that day. Direct contact isn't a selling point we thought up. It's just what happens when the owners are the crew.
Accountability to the Polk County Community
New Era Landscaping is based in Winter Haven and works throughout Lakeland and surrounding Polk County communities. Because Brett and Maurilio are directly involved in the projects New Era takes on, the quality of the finished work matters long after installation day. Our reputation is built locally, one property and one customer at a time.
Outdoor Improvement Services in Winter Haven & Polk County
From Winter Haven and Lakeland to surrounding Polk County communities, New Era Landscaping focuses on specialized outdoor improvements built around the property and the homeowner's goals.
Garage & Concrete Floor Coatings
We coat garage floors, patios, and driveways using diamond surface grinding, a vapor moisture barrier, and a UV-stable polyaspartic top coat that resists Florida heat.
New Era Canyon Rock Curbing
Our custom concrete landscape curbing creates clean, permanent borders around beds and outdoor features. New Era Canyon Rock adds a hand-shaped, natural stone-style option formed specifically around the property.
Paver Walls, Retaining Walls & Hardscaping
We install paver walls and retaining walls with a level-first approach and thorough base prep that prevents settling and shifting. Whether you're looking for garden borders, retaining walls, or decorative features, we build them to last.
Questions About Hiring a Local Landscaping Contractor in Lakeland
Here are answers to the questions we hear most from homeowners across Polk County.
How much experience do the owners have before starting New Era Landscaping?
Brett Lull and Maurilio Barcena bring over 15 years of combined hands-on trade experience to every project. That experience covers concrete surface preparation, epoxy application, decorative curbing installation, and paver wall construction. All skills built in the field, not in a classroom or management role.
Does New Era Landscaping serve areas outside Lakeland, FL?
Yes. We serve a 30-mile radius of Lakeland, Florida, which includes Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Haines City, and much of Polk County. If you're unsure whether your address falls within our service area, call us at (863) 288-0352 and we'll confirm on the spot.
What makes a family-owned landscaping company different from a larger contractor?
With a family-owned company like ours, you get the owner on every job. Not a rotating crew supervised at a distance. That means faster decisions, cleaner communication, and a team that cares about the finished result because their name and reputation stay in the neighborhood long after the project is done.
